We’ve been in a small, unique RV\/Trailer Park since September 2024. It has been quite an experience and I will talk about it in another entry. The wind channels down Choachella Valley fiercely on some days, and several days in a row on occasion. The fact that there are several hundred windmills should be a clue as the amount of win-driven energy. Anyway, last week had been one windy day after another – gusts to 50 mph. It’s amazing how much that stresses the body, the dirt blowing, the sunshade whipping around all the time – the door hard to close due the wind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So Kate had the great idea to take off and go to Joshua Tree National Park. It has been on our list of things to see since we arrived in Spetember. The park is about an hour’s drive from us – Through the gap to the north and then east for 20 miles. Off we went!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most of the national parks that we have visited have several focuses. With this park, it is all about the trees – thousands of them. I didn’t get a good photos but at one point all I could see was Joshua Trees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here are a ciouple of “baby” trees. They are still probably 10 years old since the trees only grow 2-4 inches per year. Some of the trees here are over 30 feet tall!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
