What an experience. The festival goes for two weeks and we decided the day before it ends that we would like to go. We got up at 4:30 in the morning to drive in. The plan was to find a parking lot close to the field and watch them take off.
Well, with my great sense of direction we ended up in the line to go to the main field! I am so glad we did. Kate and I were able to walk right down on the field where they were inflating the balloons. We warmed ourselves on the gas flames – we talked with people working there. What and experience!
