We have settled in to our camp hosting job here at Sunset Beach State Park. Now we are looking for things to do! One of the first things was to go hale watching. The boat we took was out out of Santa Cruz – 30 minutes north of us. The crew consisted of a captain and two mates. Each mate was a marine biologist so the information was great. At one point we had whales all around the boat! One whale came right up to the boat and almost greeted us.
Whenever I thought of California I’ve always thought of warm water and beaches. Well – it turns out that it isn’t true! It has been very chilly.
We’ve also visited the beach – Sunset Beach of course. I’m sure we will make lots of trips down to the beach but this was just before the winter storm.
