Yuma, Arizona

Kind of a long post – we had lots of fun here.

We have come west from the Phoenix area to a little pond called Fortuna Pond. It is maybe 25 acres, about a half hour walk around the whole thing. People park their campers or vans or cars or tents right next to the pond and settle in. The weather has been in the 70’s for the whole month – with lows in the upper 40’s.

It has been a wonderful and quiet stay here. We have met most of the people and they are really nice and fun to visit with.

We invited a few people for Christmas lunch and one of the folks said they had invited some others so we had a grand time on Christmas with a pot luck lunch, Christmas music, and lots of laughing and watching the dogs. Christmas in our shorts on the beach of the pond .with nice friends My kind of Christmas!!!!

Kate spent Christmas eve cooking and baking and it was sooooo good. Everyone raved about her baking skills. It is hard to imagine they will improve but she says with a real oven things will be even better. Why, yes, we did add real oven to our purchase schedule!

Here is our home, from across the pond.

Brody and Max getting one of their many, many, many walks.

We went to a city 75 miles to the east to get a solar part (see renovations) and on our way back the sky was spectacular. It had just stopped raining and we got a rainbow in front of and a sunset behind us.

Max has taken over one of the recliner chairs. If Brody happens to be in it while Max walks past, Brody gets growled at. It is very amusing.
